Recently I read an article about tipping procedures in some Vermont communities near the Canadian border. The staff and management were “fed up” with the perceived cheapness of visitors from out of country and began to institute their own “tip tax”. Not kosher!!! In North America in the service industry a tip is a bonus for servers when the customer is inclined – not a right. As a person in the business I tend to overtip normally but sometimes will tip accordingly if the service is inappropriate. A small tip sometimes is more effective than no tip. Needless to say the tip is always optional.

SHAME ON YOU VERMONT!!!!
